2012 was a huge year for Luke and I! It was the year we photographed our first two weddings! We loved every minute of both of them and are so grateful for Anita and Marinko, and Jess and Matt for allowing us to capture their special days.
Photographing weddings is such an honour and a responsibility we don't take lightly. To be welcomed by a Bride and Groom to spend the majority of their special day by their side capturing their love and that of their family and friends is lovely. We have fallen head over heels in love with wedding photography and we can't wait to continue it into the future...starting next weekend with the gorgeous wedding of Jenna and Andy. Stay tuned for their engagement photos on the blog in the next week and their wedding photos soon after!!
Portrait photography is another aspect that we love. We have beautiful nieces, nephews, friends and family who we love taking photos of and in 2012 we also had the pleasure of being welcomed to capture the special moments of lovely new clients such as Alex and Ryans engagement, Marcos' and Alessandras Christenings, Charlotte newborn, Jenn's maternity and the Gaskin family.
Last year was also a huge year for us personally. The biggest event for us was that we took the next step in our relationship and purchased our first home! After house hunting for a few months back in late 2011, we took a break and started looking again at the beginning of winter. We spent numerous weekends at open inspections and then one day we found 'the one'. It was everything we were hoping for - perfect house, perfect time, perfect price. We moved in mid September and have been loving every minute of it!
We also decided to adopt a fur-baby. After convincing Luke that it would be amazing to have a pet I started searching for our ideal puppy. After searching for quite a while we again came upon the puppy perfect for us - perfect temperament, perfect breeders, perfect timing again (after the busy Christmas holidays). Although we officially adopted him in 2012 we welcomed Eriksen into our home on January 2nd. He is a Spoodle - an American Cocker Spaniel cross Poodle. We love him so much and as Luke said 'He's a good bloke'. You will be seeing a lot of Erik on the blog in the months to come!
2013 is already shaping up to be the best year yet for Megan Lesley Photography, with new business procedures, plans and beautiful shoots to come. We can't wait to share our photography and ourselves with you all over the next 12 months. Follow along and enjoy the ride...
Megan
