The D700 story...

My Nikon D700 arrived yesterday and I'm itching to get out and use it this weekend. I am still amazed that my photography journey has brought me so far in such a short amount of time!

This time last year I was cramming for my last Chartered Accountant exam and looking forward to the day when I could put my formal education behind me. With all that behind me I picked up a camera and like the stereotypical Type A person I am I ran as fast as I could. I think I'm addicted to learning, growing and finding out new things (this isn't always a blessing - it constantly sends me into overdrive and I have to check myself constantly and tell myself to sloooooww down). I find that once a chapter of my life closes I quickly have to move onto something new and challenging.

My first camera was an entry level Nikon D3100...it was great and I learnt so much and it quickly got me hooked onto phtography. My second camera? A D90, after Luke upgraded and I got the hand-me-down. I'm already up to my third camera in under a year - a Nikon D700. This will last me for MANY years yet. Although I don't necessarily NEED this camera (they say photos are only as good as the photographer, not the gear) it was a bargain and that's what happens when your boyfriend keeps track of Nikon gear on EBay :).
