I am getting a MACRO LENS!!! So very excited!
Its a Sigma 105mm - so a cheapy to play with and hopefully with my two lenses it will be enough to do some portraits and other shots to earn some moolah before I buy too much more camera gear.
My new lens looks like this...
Am hoping it gets delivered before the extra long 5 day weekend so I can play with it and experiment lots! Have so many ideas I want to photograph!!!

I had a spare afternoon last week and being carless (had to lend me car to my boyfriend after his broke down - ugh) I grabbed my bike and camera gear and rode into the city and took some shots of flowers, bushes and all stuff garden! Took along Luke's tripod and spare flash and set it all up no worries and took tons of shots.
Learnt a lot about too much flash and overexposed images!! But have a few that turned out ok. Have been far too busy to do any post-production but I will post them as soon as they're finished...

My First Macro....
I've been wanting a macro lens for a while and even more so after falling in love with Paul Hamiltons work.
I found some weeds (yes, actual weeds!) in our paved courtyard and thought I would try out some macro shots just using the macro function on my camera. Pretty happy with the results especially as I used no flash or tripod so most of them turned out blurry!!

So in spite of the rain yesterday, I set up some fruit and vegies on the dining room table and played around with some photos - looking at composition and textures. Was fun to play around with the cherry tomatoes and baby carrots! Luke played the role of assistant and even set up his lighting equipment and umbrella for me!
Photos to come soon after I find some time to edit them...!

Rain Rain Go Away!

Whenever I feel the need to take photos and have a million ideas in my head it rains!! This weekend we were planning to go down to an old house in Adelaide Carrick Hill which has amazing gardens and is a popular place for weddings. They also have a storybook garden filled with cute little scenes from childrens books.
With the rain as heavy as it is now I don't think we will be able to go out with our cameras so hopefully next weekend the sun will poke out from behind the clouds!
